About Us

We are a small, in-home, hobby breeder located on the South Coast of NSW, Australia.  Established 2015.

Our goal isn't to simply find homes for puppies, we're committed to matching each puppy with the right family for a lifetime of happiness. Every puppy has it's own unique personality and we carefully consider each families lifestyle to ensure we make the best matches possible.

We believe every dog deserves to be a cherished family member and we take great pride in raising confident, well socialised puppies.

Every Onatah puppy is an extension of our family, they are born and raised inside our family home where they receive constant love, attention and care from day one.

We follow the Puppy Culture early development program, a science based program developed by veterinarians, breeders and behaviour specialists to help puppies develop into confident, resilient companions.

Our puppies are introduced to a variety of everyday experiences from day one including;

  • Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS)
  • Household and environmental noises (vacuum, thunder, sirens, children etc)
  • Water and Swimming
  • Leash and Collar introduction (harnesses included)
  • Different surfaces and environments
  • Crate Training
  • Toilet Training
  • Basic Obedience/Manners
  • Socialisation with other dogs
  • Car Travel
  • Basic grooming (bath, nails, ears, teeth and coat)

The health of our dogs is extremely important to us. All breeding dogs undergo comprehensive DNA genetic screening for all inheritable diseases. They also undergo extensive vet checks prior to breeding including a general health check, eyes, ears, bite, coat/skin, elbows, patella's, heart, hernia checks to ensure they are healthy and will produce healthy puppies.

Copies of parents testing is supplied in each puppy pack folder. Our dogs are Purebred Miniature Dachshunds registered with MDBA.

Our puppies are ready to leave us between 9-10 weeks old. They come;

  • Vaccinated (first vaccine)
  • Microchipped
  • Up to date with parasite control
  • Started crate training
  • Well underway with toilet training
  • Introduced to leash walking
  • Socialised with people, dogs and everyday experiences
  • Full Puppy pack
  • 6 weeks of free pet insurance
  • 2 weeks of raw food delivered to your home (postcode pending)

If required we are happy to keep puppies longer by prior arrangement (additional fees may apply).

Our puppy prices are currently between $3500-$5500, accurate pricing will be given to you upon application.

Our puppies are sold strictly as companion animals and are not available for breeding. A desexing contract forms part of our sales agreement.

Buyers receive a $500 refund upon proof of desexing by 12 months old.

Once puppies are born our waitlist is notified. At 4 weeks old, puppy selections are made by the waitlist and any remaining puppies available are then advertised to the public. A $500 deposit is required to secure your chosen puppy. If you have already joined the waitlist, the remaining $200 is due upon puppy selection.

Deposits are partially refundable up until 6 weeks of age should circumstances change or the sale does not proceed.

Unfortunately we do not ship our puppies interstate, we strongly believe in meeting all puppy buyers. If you live interstate you will be required to travel to us to collect your puppy.  This way you can also meet the parents of your puppy and discuss any questions you have with us in person . We are located on the South Coast of NSW, approximately  2.5 hours south of Sydney.

Our commitment to our puppies does not end once they leave our home. We provide ongoing lifetime support and are always available to answer questions, give advice and help you where possible. Should circumstances change and you are no longer able to care for your dog, we ask that you contact us first.  At no point do we want our puppies surrendered to the pound, RSPCA or Animal Welfare associations. If for any reason you are no longer able to care for your dog, we are happy to take it back, We cannot guarantee and are not responsible for any refund of money paid, however we are more than happy to rehome your dog to a new, suitable family.  Upon pick up of your puppy, there will be a 'Contract of Sale' for you to sign, This is a document that will stand up in court if not adhered to.

If you feel the Dachshund is the right breed for you, feel welcome to contact to us.
